Biography

Pieter Hooijmans obtained his MSc in microwave electronics and his PhD cum laude on high-speed coherent optical systems at Delft University of Technology. He worked twenty years for Philips in research, the tuner RF module business and as the RF programme manager at Philips Semiconductors. In 2006 he was one of the founders of NXP Semiconductors, becoming the VP strategy and R&D for a number of business units, ending with all 2.5 billion dollar non-automotive businesses. Since 2015 he is an independent consultant with Maximus-R&D, as well as a supervisory board member at Effect Photonics and the chairman at Mapper Lithography.
