Mike Beunder started his career as a designer at the VLSI Program, CSIRO in Adelaide, Australia. He held positions at the IMS Stuttgart, Germany, Compass Design Automation in Sophia Antipolis, France, and San Jose, California, USA, and Philips Semiconductors, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, focused on EDA, libraries and semiconductor processes. He was a co-founder of several start-ups in the US, UK and the Netherlands. He is also one of the founding partners of TD Shepherd, a corporate finance firm serving the ICT market in Europe. He received his MSc in electrical engineering and computer science in 1985 and his PhD in electrical engineering in 1989, both from the University of Twente, the Netherlands. He holds an MA (with distinction) in international relations and conflicts from King’s College London. He has published over 30 papers at conferences and in journals.
